This webinar will cover both good practices in addressing statelessness in Algeria, as well as remaining gaps. It will set this under the umbrella of issues common across the Middle East and North Africa region. The panelists will not only present the research conducted on Algeria as a part of this project, but also delve deeper into the risks of statelessness and the challenges related to accessing civil documentation and nationality among refugee and migrant communities. Moreover, panelists will discuss the lessons learned regarding gender discrimination in nationality laws.

Meeting of Local Actors on Statelessness in Lebanon

IFI convened the local actors on statelessness in Lebanon, aimed at sharing current work on statelessness, including research and advocacy efforts. 18 international and local organizations discussed their work on statelessness, nationality rights and citizenship, as well as their willingness to collaborate to help improve the situation of those considered stateless in the region.
